Germans Erik Zabel and Leif Lampater have won the 45th edition of the Bremen Six Day Race. The duo took the win from fellow countryman Olaf Pollack and Swiss rider Franco Marvulli 431 to 416.

The race took a turn for the worse when Pollack became involved in a massive pileup while still in contention. He was taken to the hospital and to be treated for what looked like a broken collarbone.

There is only one race left for the 38-year-old Zabel. His last race will be ridden along side Rober Bartko in Berlin from January 22-27.
