French sports paper L’Equipe wrote in its Saturday edition that Bradley Wiggins will join the new British Team Sky for 2010. The Briton has a contract still with his Garmin Slipstream team, but after finishing fourth in this year’s Tour de France, he wanted to switch for more support in a quest to win the most famous race of the world.

According to L’Equipe, Garmin Slipstream has agreed to let Wiggins leave his contract.

Sky will be happy to sign this complete rider, who can time trial, is a rouleur and learned this year that he can also hold his own in the high mountains.

Sky will thus have 25 riders and a staff of 12, coming from 13 different nations.
