USADA inquiry already underway

Pat McQuaidThe International Cycling Union (UCI) confirmed today that it has requested the relevant National Federations to carry out inquiries of the accusations made by American Floyd Landis last week.  The list of individuals includes those with active licenses including Matthew White (Cycling Australia), Johan Bruyneel (Royal Belgian Cycling League),  Michael Barry (Canadian Cycling Association) and John Lelangue (French Cycling Federation).

In addition, the UCI cited the investigation that has already been opened by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) concerning all the other individuals accused by Landis.  The Americans include Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer from Team RadioShack, George Hincapie and Jim Ochowicz from BMC Racing and David Zabriskie from the Garmin-Transitions team.

The UCI also reiterated the fact that this should not imply that it believes the Landis allegations to have any basis.
