Belgian sprinter Geert Steegmans has been making his rounds to find a new home after dissolving his contract with the Russian Katusha team.

The most recent inquiry has been with the German Milram team, where management feels Steegmans would compliment their young sprinter Gerard Ciolek.

“Geert Steegmans is a rider who interests us very much and we have begun discussions with him,” team boss Gerry van Gerwen confirmed to Sporza.

According to Van Gerwen, the Belgian is a perfect fit for the team, and there is a verbal agreement between the two parties.

Steegmans manager Paul De Geyter acknowledged the talks, but said there are other offers, including BBox Bouygues Telecom, and they are keeping their options open.
