Andreas Stauff was recently signed by Belgian team Quick Step and the young German rider was looking forward to do his first ProTour race in January. But it looks like the late signing will eliminate his chances to ride in Australia, due to missing data in the blood passport program.

Stauff was initially put on the Tour Down Under start list, but has not been named in the final line-up of the team, according to Dutch site Wielerflits.nl.

His late signing in December meant he could not acquire a biological profile, a necessity to do races sanctioned by the International Cycling Union (UCI).

Stauff was the only sprinter on the team and thus was hoping he could go for his own chances.

Quick Step will now ride with Addy Engels, Mauro Facci, Nikolas Maes, Jurgen Van De Walle, Kevin Van Impe and Thomas Vedel Kvist.
