Belgian team Silence-Lotto will again look to Australian Cadel Evans for the overall win when the Tour de France starts on July 4 in Monaco.

Evans will have a strong team to support his bid to win the overall after two consecutive second place finishes. Belgians Jurgen Van den Broeck, Johan Vansummeren and Greg Van Avermaet, Australian with Matthew Lloyd, Dutchman Thomas Dekker and German Sebastian Lang will form the core of the team.

Lang has recovered from a fall in the Dauphiné, where Evans showed a new side to his racing that he hopes will make the difference this July. Not known as an attacking rider, Evans put both Alejandro Valverde and Alberto Contador in difficulty with a flurry of attacks during the race’s final major climb. It took both Spaniards to neutralize the man from Down Under, and his all or nothing style likely left a mark in the back of Contador’s mind.
