CSC Saxo Bank’s Andy Schleck has told sportweek.nl what his program will look like for the 2009 season. The 23-year-old prodigy revealed a heavy schedule leading up to the Tour de France in July.
“I will ride in the Tour of California in February, followed by Paris-Nice,” Schleck said of his schedule. “I am also riding Milan-Sanremo and the Criterium International. I will ride the Tour of the Basque Country to prepare for the Amstel Gold Race, Fleche Wallone, and the Liege-Bastogne-Liege.”
After the Ardenne Classics the young Luxemberger will take some time to do reconnaissance of key stages from this years Tour de France. He will aim to improve on his twelfth place finish in 2008, and use the Tour of Switzerland as his final preparation.
