Jan Bakelants (Topsport Vlaanderen) will be riding for Silence-Lotto next year. Manager Marc Sergeant confirmed the young-Belgian’s future after Mathew Goss’s (Saxo Bank) win in Paris-Brussels.
Bakelants, regarded as Belgium’s most promising stage-racing talent after winning last year’s Tour de L’Avenir, is one of the many riders leaving Topsport Vlaanderen. Teammate Ben Hermans signed with Johan Bruyneel’s RadioShack earlier while Belgian sprinter Kristof Goddaert landed on the wish list of Skil Shimano among others after his third place in Paris Brussels.
