An already star-studded Revolution series starts this weekend with yet more names from the ProTor peloton added. The new recruits are named as Saxo Bank’s Matt Goss, Katusha’s Ben Swift and recent OmegaPharma-Lotto signing Adam Blythe.

“I’m really looking forward to Revolution at the weekend,” said Australian Goss in an official press release. “Track is where it all began for me and I can’t wait to get back on the boards and do some damage. It would be great to shake up some of the GB guys who probably think they’ve got their races sewn up!”

Once again, the DHL Future Stars series returns as a support event, and 48 of Great Britain’s best young cycling prospects have been selected to represent their regions. British Cycling’s Phil West has been involved with the Future Stars for a number of years and has identified some riders to watch in this series.

“Once again we have a really talented bunch of riders taking part in Future Stars,” he said, “so it’s a tough call to pick a favourite for the title. However, a few of the riders have been doing great things this season and will definitely be worth keeping an eye on.”

West identified Scottish rider John Paul, who just missed out on claiming the 200m Youth National record this season because of a faulty timing system. Hannah Barnes and Lucy Garner, who hold a number of national youth titles between them, should be the ones to watch in the girls’ competition.

Previous winners of the DHL Future Stars series include Olympic individual pursuit bronze medallist Steven Burke, Peter Kennaugh and Alex Greenfield.
