The line-up for this Saturday’s second leg of the new Revolution championship at the Manchester Velodrome has been announced.

Star of the show will be Olympic champion and Tour de France fourth-place finisher Bradley Wiggins, putting on a show at his local track despite taking a break from fixed wheel competition to concentrate on the road. He’ll be joined by Team Sky recruits Geraint Thomas and Russell Downing, as well as Ben Swift – who would apparently like to join Sky but his current team Katusha won’t release him – and Downing’s brother Dean.

Other British stars in the endurance events include Olympic medallists Chris Newton, Ed Clancy and Steven Burke as well as rising star Andy Tennant. All four missed the first round while away with the Great Britain team. The event will be given a six-day feel by the presence of Leon Van Bon, Luke Roberts and Leif Lampater.

Sprinting should be dominated by Team Sky+ HD with Jason Kenny, Matt Crampton, Jamie Staff, Ross Edgar and Pete Mitchell. Dave Daniell returns from Great Britain duty for his first event of the season, and Italian Roberto Chiappa and Scottish Craig “Braveheart” MacLean complete the line-up.

Seated tickets are reported to be sold out, but some standing tickets are apparently still available.
