Cervélo TestTeam rider receives two-year contract
It is now official that Theo Bos is returning to Rabobank, after having spent this season with the Cervélo TestTeam. Bos started in the Rabobank Continental squad in 2009, before making his ProTour debut with Cervélo. He has signed a contract that runs until the end of 2012.
Bos started his career out as track rider, where he was also sponsored by the Rabobank team. The first road season in 2009 with the Rabobank Continental team did not start out to well for Bos, as he was in the center of discussion following a crash in the final stage in the Tour of Turkey. Bos made better headlines this year, with four wins to show in his first ProTour season.
The team is quite happy to have Bos back, including Director Erik Breukink. “We always had faith in Theo’s possibilities, now he returns unexpectedly quickly to Rabobank. We will work for common successes.”
Bos himself is also pleased to return to home soil. “I am really happy with my return to Rabobank.” Bos had options where to go in 2010. “Last year I was in a luxury position, but my choice [for Cervélo] at the time was not a choice against Rabo,” he insists.
Bos also won the points classification in the Vuelta a Castilla y Léon this year. The 26-year-old is likely to still bring a few smiles to the Rabobank team in the years to come.
