Several days ago the 2010 UCI Pro-Tour calendar was revealed, significant changes included moving the Tour of California to May and the emergence of two new Pro-Tour races in Canada. More changes are to be expected as the newly re-elected Pat McQuaid told Tuttobiciweb that he wants the UCI to hold races in India and the United Arab Emeriates.

The Irishman holds the globalization of cycling close to heart, especially after the successful Tour of Qatar and the Tour Down Under, which joined the Pro-Tour calendar in 2008. Despite these successes races like the GP Sochi in Russia, that had joined the Pro-Tour calendar in 2009, never materialized.
