The Belga News Agency has reported that Jan Ullrich’s long-time mentor Rudy Pevenage will not testify in the case involving his former protege. Pevenage was called to be a witness in a Hamburg court on May 22nd so he could testify in a case involving the former professional cyclist. His testimony has been postponed indefinitely.

Ullrich is challenging Franke’s claim that he paid 35,000 Euros for doping activities to Eufemiano Fuentes, the Spanish doctor at the center of the Operation Puerto scandal. Ullrich claims the money paid to the controversial doctor was to produce health and training plans for the cyclist.

Michael Lehner, the attorney for Franke, was hoping he could help build their case with the Belgian’s testimony under oath.
