The Milram team has signed Belgians Roy Sentjens and Wim De Vocht on one year contracts to add to its potency in the spring classics. “We are very pleased to have signed these two riders“, said Milram manager Gerry van Gerwen. “Both will help us with the future development of our team.

“Together with Gerald Ciolek, Servais Knaven and Niki Terpstra they will ensure that our performance at the classics will be different to this season. Both Sentjens and De Vocht know the spring races very well and are of course highly motivated for the classics in their home country.”

28-year-old Sentjens won the Under-23 Ronde van Vlaanderen in 2001 then signed for the Rabobank team where he stayed for five seasons. In 2006 he signed for the Predictor-Lotto (now Silence-Lotto) team where he has been ever since. His best results of 2009 were 4th place overall in the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen in March and 3rd place in the GP de Wallonie last month.

27-year-old De Vocht also won the Under-23 Ronde – in 2003 – while riding for the Quick Step development team. He signed for Relax-Bodysol the next year before joining the Davitamon-Lotto (now Silence-Lotto) team a year later. This year he rode for Dutch ProContinental team Vacansoleil. De Vocht has had a fairly quiet 2009 for personal results, but managed 14th in Paris-Roubaix in 2008.
