Beats race one winner Elia Viviani
Robert Hunter (RadioShack) took his first season victory in stage two of the Tour of Mumbai, India, where he outsprinted Elia Viviani (Liquigas). A British trio followed with Jonathon McEvoy, Ian Wilkinson and Ian Bibby. The win was the second of the season for RadioShack, after Ben Hermans took the Trofeo Inca on Mallorca five days ago. Hunter’s teammate Robbie McEwen had another flat tire – the same fate he suffered in race one.
The race conditions in India are a little different. “By the way, racing in India is an experience..not something I wanna do everyday but now I got the T-shirt,” Hunter said on twitter. “Race was harder than expected.”
The South African is glad he doesn’t have to train or even rest in the area too often. “If I was asked one thing I remember about Mumbai…it would have to be the god damn car horns!!!! Talk about noise pollution!”
After his win, he was a little more relaxed about it. “Walking around the streets of Mumbai.. Crazy town..had a Tuk Tuk taxi experience as well.. Good times.”
