Chris Horner has become the latest member of the Astana team to sign up with the RadioShack team on a two-year deal from 2010 according to his local newspaper The Oregonian. The move means that Horner will continue to ride under Johan Bruyneel, and alongside riders Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer.

“I did talk with other teams,” said Horner, “but wanted to stay here.”

2009 has been a difficult season for the 36-year-old. Forced to abandon the Giro d’Italia after a crash, he was passed over for the Tour de France team. Another crash in the Vuelta a España, where half the peloton came down on a wet roundabout close to the finish in Liege, Belgium, saw him break his wrist and abandon his second Grand Tour of the year.

Having recovered from his Vuelta injuries, Horner is heading for Europe for the end of season classics, especially the Giro di Lombardia, on Oct. 17.
