Heinrich Haussler (Cervélo TestTeam) has one goal for next season, and that is to win a Spring Classic. After coming close so many times this year with his second place finishes in Milan-Sanremo and the Ronde van Vlaanderen, he hopes to bag a big win in 2010.

“I do not think that I need to talk a lot about my goals for next year. I have already come so close to victory in Milan-Sanremo and the Tour of Flanders, so I eventually want to win such a race. My dream to win Paris-Roubaix also has not ended,” wrote the German-Australian on his personal site.

In two weeks, Haussler will begin his preparation for next season with a Cervelo TestTeam meeting before traveling to St. Moritz for three weeks of cross-country skiing.

He is currently unwinding from a long season by taking a vacation with his family in his native country, Australia. About his preparations for next season he said he is keeping it close to what brought him success in 2009. “Actually, its a nice program. I have noticed that I did this last winter and it prepared me very well, so why should I change the program now? Besides the cross-country skiing I will lift some weights at the gym.”

Haussler, 25, enjoyed a very strong season that saw him capture six wins including a stage in the Tour de France. His win in the Tour underscored his Classics potential with the young rider dropping Frenchman Sylvain Chavanel for a solo victory in bad weather conditions.
