Fly V Australia professional cycling team has announced a deal with Italian frame builder De Rosa for 2010 as they look to Europe to expand their race program. In its first year as a UCI Continental team, Fly V Australia left its mark in the US by winning over 60 races, with 90 total wins worldwide.

“We had a great inaugural season and I think we have made some strong moves to strengthen and balance the team’s roster for 2010. We will be announcing the full roster shortly and I think you will see that the strength of our lineup may only be eclipsed by the quality of the cycling industry support we have assembled,” said Team owner Chris White on the Fly V website.

“Certainly De Rosa and SRAM are two of the most sought after brands in the industry and we are proud to have them as part of our family,” explained Chris White. The team’s focus for 2010 will be the overall NRC title and topping their win total for 2009.

One of the riders rumored to be signing with Fly V is Australian Aaron Kemps according to Bundaberg NewsMail. Kemps, 26, raced with the controversial Rock Racing team in 2009 where he scored a second place finish in the second stage of the Vuelta a la Comunidad de Madrid. According to Wielerflits the team hopes to make their European debut in the Tour of Britain and the Tour of Ireland with an eye on a UCI Pro-Continental license in 2011.

For 2010, Fly V Australia is teaming up with exclusive De Rosa distributor, Trialtir USA, who will provide the riders with the new King 3RS and Merak frames topped off with SRAM groupsets. Triatir USA will also be supplying the team with Diadora shoes, Santini clothing, Stella Azzurra bar, stems & tape, and LAS helmets.

“The Fly V program represents more than just a sponsorship opportunity for De Rosa, but a great opportunity to gain valuable R&D information for all of our brands,” said Trialtir USA CEO Massimo Bartolini. “The Fly V organisation has great spirit and camaraderie, and we want to bring that culture, enthusiasm, and performance experience to our dealers around America.

“I think 2010 is going to be a great year for the cycling industry and especially for De Rosa and the Trialtir brands, I am happy to announce the sponsorship of what I believe will be among the most competitive teams in North America,” he added. “I am especially happy to be working with some riders and management that we have had success with in the past.”
