Olympic champion and Vuelta a España runner-up Samuel Sanchez plus the rest of his Euskaltel-Euskadi team-mates will work out their likely 2010 racing programme at a four day training camp, which begins on Monday.
According to As.com, the get-together will take place in a hotel in Derio, Vizcaya, where the 24 riders of the ProTour team will meet up.
The team will not vary greatly from the 2009 season, with just six additions. Gorka Izagirre and Beñat Intxausti come from the Contentpolis-Ampo and Fuji Servetto teams, while Jonathan Castroviejo, Miguel Minguez, Daniel Sesma and world under 23 champion Romain Sicard transfer from the Orbea feeder squad.
Five riders are departing – the first three are Andoni Lafuente, Josu Agirre and Markel Irizar, the latter going to RadioShack. Also on the way out are Mikel Astarloza and Inigo Landaluze, who both tested positive in 2009.
Apart from giving the riders a chance to talk to management and negotiate their racing programme, the camp will also see several training sessions take place, media and sponsor liaison, plus medical checks.
Sanchez will continue with the team in 2010 and plans to target a strong finish in the Tour de France.
