Moisés Dueñas is looking to a comeback in pro cycling after a doping ban sidelined him for a year. Dueñas cooperated with the investigators, which helped him to receive a shortening of his initial two-year ban. Spanish paper El Adelanto de Salamanca reported that the former Barloworld rider is likely to join Professional Continental team Xacobeo-Galicia. He currently rides for amateur team Super Froiz.

The highest Spanish Sports Court (CSD) was instrumental in reducing Dueñas’ sentence as a reward for his collaboration. CSD’s general director, Albert Soler, also wanted Dueñas to continue his career and recommended him to José Ramón Lete. Lete is the sports general director for Galicia, a region in northwestern Spain and sponsor of the Xacobeo-Galicia team. The most prominent rider is Ezequiel Mosquera, who finished in the top five of the Vuelta a España three times.

Dueñas was caught for using EPO in the 2008 Tour de France, when he was riding for Barloworld. Then-Teammate Geraint Thomas was furious at the time, saying that “some people never learn.” His most successful time was at French team Agritubel. There, he won the Tour de l’Avenir in 2006 and the Regio Tour in 2007.
