Philip Deignan has extended his contract with Cervélo TestTeam through 2011. The Irishman took the biggest win of his career this year in the 18th stage of the Vuelta a España.
Deignan beat Liquigas rider Roman Kreuziger on a day marked by three categorized climbs that finished in the famous walled city of Ávila where names such as Hinault, Fignon, Jalabert, Vandenbroucke and Rominger have also written themselves into cycling’s history books.
With his performance in the Vuelta this year landing him in 9th overall, the man from Letterkenny hopes to get the nod to ride the Tour de France next July.
