Mitch Comardo, an American cyclist, has tested positive for multiple banned substances and received a two-year doping ban, the US Anti-Doping Agency announced Tuesday.
A urine sample taken from Comardo during random out-of-competition testing on August 24 contained Tamoxifen and a metabolite of the banned substance, plus Anastrozole, Letrozole, and Clomiphene – all banned hormone regulating drugs.
Other banned substances in the sample included an anabolic agent and human Chorionic Gonadotrophin, a hormone-related substance.
Comardo admitted the World Anti-Doping Agency violations and accepted his suspension when presented with the findings, thereby avoiding a longer ban based upon having multiple banned substances.
The ban began on September 24, the day Comardo accepted a provisional suspension, but his results from August 24 were stricken.
