The Fuji-Servetto cycling team, who’s Pro Tour license is owned by G.M. Bikes SA, was unsuccessful in it’s bid to overturn the Amaury Sports Organization’s (ASO) descision to refuse the team entry into Paris-Nice based on its doping history.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled Friday that race organizer (ASO) has the right to exclude the Spanish team from their race that begins Sunday.

Fuji-Servetto is the reincarnation of the Saunier Duval-Scott team, where in 2008, Riccardo Ricco won two stages and then tested positive for CERA the next generation of EPO.

The ASO’s concern was that the presence of the Fuji-Servetto team in their race could negatively impact their image.

The court later ruled that the participation of team Fuji-Servetto is allowed for Tirreno-Adriatico and Milan-San Remo. In the case of RCS Sport, they argued that they had a discretionary choice to select the participants for their races.
