Footon-Servetto-Fuji has started off their season with strong performances at the Tour Down Under and the Tour de San Luis in Argentina, taking stage victories in both. With the Mallorca Challenge this Sunday they are hoping to continue their winning ways.
With an average age of just over 24 years and a roster that includes seven neo-pros, their early success has been somewhat unexpected.
Footon will be contesting the Mallorca Challenge with three leaders, Tour Down Under stage winner and Portugese national champion Manuel Cardoso, as well as San Luis stage winner Rafael Valls and Aitor Perez Arieta.
With sprinter Cardoso’s win in Australia, they will look to the Portugese rider for the field sprints. Team manager Joxean Matxin also expects Valls and Arrieta to be factors during the race.
