Niels Albert (BKCP-Powerplus) won today’s cyclocross race in Belgium’s Ardooie. The 23 year-old world champion left the Czech Zdenek Stybar and countryman Sven Vanthourenhout in his tracks.

Albert made his move with three laps to go, distancing himself from his rivals that also included Tom Meeusen, Dieter Vanthourenhout, and Klaas Vantornout. His competitors couldn’t match his accelerations as his attacks knocked each rider off his wheel, one by one.

Stybar was the strongest out of the group dropping Sven Vanthourenhout in the closing lap to secure second place.
