Employment agency returns to WorldTour team after ten-year absence

jelle vanendertFollowing the announcement that window manufacturer Belisol is to become the named co-sponsor of the Lotto Cycling Project team from next season, employment agency Adecco has announced that it too is to sponsor the team. Adecco was a co-sponsor to the Lotto team back in the early years of the last decade, with the team called Lotto-Adecco between 2000 and 2002.

“We are pleased to become a partner of this innovative cycling project,” said Mark De Smedt, Country Manager for Adecco Belgium and Luxembourg. “Adecco has a long tradition in supporting sport and athletes all over the world. In this way we help people driven to achieve their goals in their work and life.

“This project dovetails perfectly with our positioning of Coaching and Attitude in the labour market,” he continued. “To get good results, athletes don’t just need the right talent, but also the right attitude and motivation, and to have the guidance of a coach. That is precisely what we aim for professionals in the labour market. We accompany – coaching-our candidates, so that they are well prepared – and with the right motivation and attitude – can get started with companies and organizations.”

During Adecco’s previous term with the team it took some of its biggest results, including the Ronde van Vlaanderen and the Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne through Andre Tchmil, the Critérium International and la Flèche Wallonne though Rik Verbrugge, the Omloop Het Volk and the Driedaagse De Panne through Peter Van Petegem, and any number of sprints through Robbie McEwen.

Although it has been beaten to the name sponsorship by Belisol, the employment agency will be hoping for similar success with the team’s latest incarnation.
