Details and rider testimonies available in USADA’s reasoned decision

USADAIn the wake of today’s synopsis of the evidence issued by the US Anti Doping Agency plus statements by several riders admitting doping and saying that they testified in the US Postal Service/Lance Armstrong case, USADA has provided a copy of the reasoned decision and supporting documents which were transmitted Wednesday to the UCI and WADA.

Running to over 200 pages in length, and itself being a summary of documents exceeding 1000 pages, the file is impressive in its detail and is a must-read for anyone with an interest in the case, or indeed in the sport itself.

In it eleven former US Postal Service riders talk about doping on the team, including their own circumstances which led to the issue, the pressures they faced from Armstrong and others while on the USPS squad, and the Texan’s own usage of banned products.

Those riders are Frankie Andreu, Michael Barry, Tom Danielson, Tyler Hamilton, George Hincapie, Floyd Landis, Levi Leiphimer, Stephen Swart, Christian Vande Velde, Jonathan Vaughters and David Zabriskie. In addition to the eleven, USADA has secured testimonies of fifteen other individuals.

The file also lists the other evidence gathered by the agency, including what Tygart describes as ‘direct documentary evidence including financial payments, emails, scientific data and laboratory test results that further prove the use, possession and distribution of performance enhancing drugs by Lance Armstrong and confirm the disappointing truth about the deceptive activities of the USPS Team, a team that received tens of millions of American taxpayer dollars in funding.’
