Pedro Horrillo attended the Rabobank team photo shoot on Thursday in Maastricht. It is still unclear if the Spaniard will be able to race in 2010, still recovering from his bad crash in the Giro d’Italia this year.

Horrillo crashed on a descent and some 80m down a ravine, after which he spent several days in a coma. “I am doing well and I am working hard on recovering,” Horrillo said on rabosport.nl. “My left leg still causes problems. When I ride I put much more power on my right leg, so that I am not as balanced on my bike.”

Horrillo has no memory of the fall itself, and in fact says “I don’t recall anything from that day. It’s strange as I was conscious. I said my name in Italian, so I must have been aware that I was in Italy.” He apparently even said that he wanted to continue to ride after the crash. “That’s true, but I only heard that from others, as I don’t recall anything.”

He is not yet sure if he will be able to race next season. “At this moment I cannot give a response. It’s going better and better, but it depends on how the recovery goes. Naturally, I will have to decide if I can continue, but the moment [to decide] hasn’t come yet.”
