Karsten Kroon is just one of the many that was surprised by Cadel Evans’ move to the American Pro-continental BMC. Kroon, who is leaving Saxo-Bank to join Evans at the American formation, did not see the transfer coming.

“Two days ago I read on teletext [tv] that Cadel was leaving Silence-Lotto, but I hadn’t thought that he would ride for us. In the beginning it was not really intended that the team would get so big so soon. Apparently they have taken advantage of the situation that occurred in the [transfer] market” the Dutchman told the magazine Sportweek.

Kroon looks forward to working with the new World Champion, “He is a sympathetic man, but a bit different. But there is not much harm in that.” For Kroon very little will change, he will remain leader during the spring classics. “The only race for him in the spring is Liege-Bastogne-Liege. That’s fine, it will only mean we will have stronger team there.”
