Corné van Kessel, only 18 years of age, won the Dutch cyclocross championships today in Heerlen, Netherland. He beat Ramon Sinkeldam and Mitchell Huenders.
Van Kessel was happy to have won the race. “I was thinking I could win it, but for me, the big favorites were Ramon Sinkeldam and Tijmen Eising,” Van Kessel told ad.nl after the race. Eising, the reigning junior cyclocross World Champion, had a bad start and came in fourth.
Van Kessel will have to be watched in the future. The young rider has already been picked up by the Fidea squad.
