Roberto Ferrari (De Rosa-Stac Plastic) had his second win in four days today at the Giro del Friuli. He beat compatriots Jacobo Guarnieri (Liquigas) and Enrico Rossi (Ceramic Flaminia) in the 189 kilometer event from from Brugnera to Sacile. The 26-year-old also took honors in the GP Lugano this past Sunday.

Italian champion Filippo Pozzato (Katusha) also had a good day finishing in fifth place just two places off the podium.  He is preparing for his Spring Classics campaign where he will be taking aim at victory in the Tour of Flanders or Paris-Roubaix.

The race featured a break that swelled to more that 20 riders after the peloton had taken in the first third of the race, but all attempts to stay away were neutralized by the last of the six ascents of the Castello di Caneva climb. The sprint was marred by a crash at 400 meters to go, but it didn’t affect Ferrari and he was able to out kick the rest to the line.
