Italian gets one-year contract
Mirco Lorenzetto moves from the Lampre to the Astana squad for 2011. The Italian received a one-year contract with the Kazakh team. The 29-year-old will start his eighth season as a professional next year.
Lorenzetto won stage four of the Tour of Poland from Tychy to Cieszyn this year and took over the leader’s jersey for one day. One of his best years so far was the 2008 season, when he won stages in the Presidential Tour of Turkey and the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana. He also had several top ten finishes, including a fifth place in Milano-Sanremo.
He started his career in 2000 with the DeNardi team. He switched to Domina Vacanze for one year, then joined Milram for two years. After wards it was back to Italy for Lorenzetto, when he signed with Lampre.
