Saxo Bank riders head list of endurance stars at second round of Manchester series
Saxo Bank duo Alex Rasmussen and Michael Mørkøv will top the bill at the next round of the Revolution series at the Manchester Velodrome on November 20th. Both riders have been World champion on the track, having won the Madison title together and were both members of the victorious Danish pursuit team in 2009; Rasmussen was also scratch champion in 2005, and regained that title this year.
They lead a field of experienced Six-Day riders that includes Franco Marvulli, Leif Lampater, Christian Grassmann and Sebastian Donadio.
“The endurance field at the next Revolution will be one of the strongest we’ve had at an event,” said event director James Pope. “Mørkøv and Rasmussen are a class act so we’re expecting them to make an immediate impact on the Championship. With such an exciting and attacking field of international riders, joined with the calibre of British riders, Revolution 30 is set to be a display of endurance brilliance.”
As usual the British contingent will be strong, with the international stars faced by junior World champions Simon Yates and Dan McLay as well as track veteran Rob Hayles and Alex Dowsett. Competition will also be boosted by the return of Team Sky’s endurance stars and several riders from the British Cycling Academy.
Tickets for the even are available from www.cylingrevolution.com or by calling 0845 208 1840.
