British champion invites paying guests to weekend in West Wales
Geraint Thomas (Team Sky) is to host a training camp, open to the paying public, at the Bluestone National Park Resort in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. The three-day camp, between September 30th and October 3rd, will offer amateur cyclists the opportunity to ride with the British champion on some of Wales’ most stunning cycling routes.
“I’m looking forward to having an opportunity to work with other cyclists and to pass on any advice I can,” said Thomas, “as well as riding-out with cyclists of all abilities during the Cycle Training Camp at Bluestone.”
“It’s not often I get to take part in such an activity and having the spectacular cycle routes around the Pembrokeshire National Park to look forward to,” he added, “as well as staying at Bluestone, should provide a great opportunity.”
The camp will consist of two rides of between three and five hours, led by Thomas, as well as a nutrition workshop from CNP Professional, the official nutritionalists to Team Sky and British Cycling.
As well as the rides, the camp includes five-star accommodation, lunch, entry to the thermal spa, a bag of cycling goodies and a special Sunday lunch prize presentation.
“The Cycling Training Camp is a great way for cyclists of all abilities to train and ride-out with a world-class cyclist such as Geraint and to gain advice and encouragement from an Olympic gold medalist, which isn’t something you have the chance to do everyday,” said Yvonne Buckingham, Head of Marketing at Bluestone.
“Combine the training camp with the five-star Bluestone resort,” she added, “and it’ll be a great weekend for those taking part.”
The price for the event will be £275 per person based on two cyclists sharing a two-bedroom lodge. For more information visit www.bluestonewales.com call 01834 862 400.
