This Sunday Lars Boom extended his reign over the Dutch Cyclocross title by winning it for a third consecutive year. He took the win in a convincing style riding nearly half of the race solo.

Immediately following the race Boom had set his sights on the February 1st World Championships in Hoogerheide. The Dutchman confidently said, “The Belgians are rightly afraid of me.”

The result could have been much different, as the rider was hospitalized just last weekend for injuries with his shoulder and elbow. He admitted his shoulder still bothered him, but will not be a factor in 3 weeks time.

Having the Worlds on home turf should give Boom an advantage.
