At the Skil-Shimano Team presentation former Rabobank Director Theo de Rooij announced that he will be releasing his autobiography this coming March.

The former Director is currently Robert Gesink from Team Rabobank’s agent. He said the book is about his career in cycling, but does not contain any revelations about the sport.

Known as a tactical rider throughout his career, de Rooij won several stages in the Tour de Suisse, the Tour of Germany and the Ronde van Nederland. He also took part in nine editions of the Tour de France.

He resigned from his Director position from Rabobank after the 2007 Tour de France amidst revelations that one of his riders, Michael Rasmussen, had missed several drug tests earlier in the year. De Rooij thought the best move was to part ways with the team in an effort to preserve the team’s sponsorship with the Dutch bank.
