Fränk Schleck of the Saxo-Bank team took the honors in his home tour today, sealing up the overall by just 10 seconds over Team Astana’s Andreas Klöden. This was Schleck’s first victory in the Tour of Luxembourg.
To add icing to Saxo-Bank’s cake, Dane Matti Breschel won the sprint to the finish on the final stage in front of Alexander Úsov (Cofidis) and Marco Marcato (Vacansoleil).
After a bout with bad luck, it seems the older of the Schleck brothers has shaken off the cobwebs and is ready to produce for the team. This year Bjarne Riis’ squad got off to a slower start than usual in the win column, but veteran Jens Voigt and the younger Andy Schleck brought them team back to life with big wins in the Criterium International, Leige-Bastonge-Leige, and Flèche Wallonne.
