Kai Reus (Rabobank) lost out on his podium at the Tour of Britain by one second, but was still pleased with his win on stage two and four days in the yellow jersey. For a rider coming back from a life threatening crash that left him in a coma his progression is almost a miracle.
“Kai rode a fantastic tour,” noted Erik Dekker, director sportif, “Kai is back. For us that was already the case but this is great for his morale. He can start rebuilding his career.” His next steps will likely be taken with Rabobank, “We had good talks with Kai but haven’t come to a final conclusion yet,” said general manager Harold Knebel.
“We were already happy with Kai’s progress before the Tour of Britain. We hope to continue working with him. Im sure we can come to an agreement.”
